DU Circle -- Join Today!

Establish Your Network!

Ever wonder what your freshman year roommate is doing now? Have you been trying to catch up with an old classmate that you’ve lost touch with? Maybe you just graduated and are trying to use your Georgia Tech connections to land your first job? In September 2007, Delta Upsilon launched DU Circle, a new online networking community to help you re-connect, stay connected, and meet new alumni through the people you already know.

DU Circle is a free service provided by Delta Upsilon exclusively for brothers. Sharing pictures, thoughts, job opportunities, and news with your fellow trusted brothers has never been easier.  Through DU Circle, you can tap into one of the greatest resources available to you – your network of DU friends and friends-of-friends.

How do I get started?
  • visit www.du-circle.org and register
  • fill out your profile
  • search for and find your friends and colleagues and add them to your network

Most people are familiar with the concept of six degrees of separation. You know Jason, Jason knows Adam, and Adam knows Kevin Bacon right? Well, now you can employ the same concept within your own alumni community.  You know your freshman roommate, and your roommate knows the VP of a company you’d like to do business with.  With DU Circle you can actually see these connections and, for the first time, visualize your existing extended network.  By building your network, and inviting your friends to do the same, your reach throughout the community grows exponentially.   Is this just for finding business contacts?  Not at all. DU Circle is whatever each individual alumnus wants to make of it.

You fill out your profile with whatever information you want to share, invite and accept invitations from only those people you know and trust, and join groups based on your location, interests, hobbies, or school clubs.  Anything from new mothers comparing notes, to mountain bikers recommending trails, to a local chapter sharing event photos and organizing their next gathering; it’s up to you.  You can even create your own groups and job listings!

Plus, you can connect anywhere, anytime you have an internet connection – at home or on the road, at noon or 2 am.  Enjoy this great opportunity to network with other DUs in your area, across the country, or around the globe.

Many alums have been asking for message board functionality and with DU circle you are able to instantly communicate with DU alums all over the country as well as start message boards. Join the Georgia Tech Alumni Group to see what is going on! Visit www.du-circle.org and start growing your network today!

Changes to the House
This semester the brothers of the Georgia Tech Chapter have made a couple of major changes to the house. The Georgia Tech Chapter of Delta Upsilon is preparing for a major repair of the Chapter House.  The Chapter House has multiple foundation leaks which are damaging the study as well as filling 2 private rooms with an inch of standing water after heavy rains.  Fortunately due to the recent Georgian drought, this issue has been less severe than it could have been.  A contractor will begin on January 23, 2008 the task of digging 8 ft into the ground the entire length of  the 5th St wall and 5 ft down into the ground the entire length of the Techwood Dr wall in order to repair the damage.  The estimated cost of this repair is upwards of $7500.

We are also preparing to update our sprinkler system in order to meet fire code.  The project will entail adding an additional sprinkler head beneath the loft structures in all private rooms.  This projected has been quoted at $3200, but may prove more costly as there are 19 private rooms with varying loft structures.

These projects are critical to sustaining our Chapter House and therefore our Chapter's survival.  We thank our Alumna's previous support in helping to repair our roof when damaged by wind and support we can ensure that our Chapter House will remain an asset for many DU's to come. VP of Scholarship Rishab Malhotra revamped the study. The study has a fresh coat of paint, new carpeting, new tables, two computers and fixed the lock on the study. The study is now a more enjoyable environment to study in. Brothers have already made more use of the study than in previous semesters.

Brother Mike Moran and Chapter President Freddie Weiss have completely overhauled the T.V. room. They stripped out the carpet and put wood flooring in. They also created loft style seating allowing more brothers to sit and relax in the T.V. room. To cap it all off, the chapter purchased a plasma screen T.V. Thanks to Freddie and Mike’s hard work the chapter will have another place to get together and socialize.

Thanks to all those brothers for their hard work!
